Sunday 4th May

Here is Roy's slide show from Sunday, as I wasn't in the talk I look forward to some comments being posted to help me understand what was going on!

I was taken with this picture of the woman crying over Jesus' feet, before wiping them with her hair. I don't imagine it would have been a trivial thing for her to go into the house of a Pharisee, knowing how unwelcome she would be, but something inexplicable that she felt she had to do for Jesus was bigger than that which may have held her back, or made her behave more 'appropriately'.
It seems as though Jesus received the ministrations as a gift. It is an attractive thought, that Jesus - Son of God could be touched by something simple, but costly done for him by someone who loves him.
I don't tend to think much about what I do causing God an emotional response, so it is interesting to think that he might genuinely be pleased when I do something for him, perhaps especially when it requires me to do something that is a big deal to me.

I don't think you could say that was what Sunday was about, sorry Shaun!
