This morning we continued our look at men and women of the bible with a study of Barnabas and a look at how we can follow his example to be better friends this year. With all that is going on in the world and therefore in people's lives I guess people will want good friends this year. We can be there for each other and new people we meet. The presentation belwo follows Barnabas's appearances in Acts and suggests some things to think about if you want to read my notes follow this link

Thanks Shaun for this. I have two thoughts:
1. How nice is the system to be able to know what was said at Ashley when away.
2. How good it is when the message is so much part of the messenger! You are an excellent role model for a 'good friend'.
I missed the Christmas deadline with this one: But never mind Eh!
It is now Epiphany; that makes it even more appropriate. So here it is.
Why a Star to Guide ?
A visit to the Planetarium at the Greenwich Observatory – October 2008 - taught me that I have been made from stardust, everything on the Earth had to originate from the heavens. The Earth core is a fragment of our sun. The dust, which forms every solid thing is debris left over from when the sun last exploded; there have been a number of these explosions [1] over many millions of years. The dust we are and what we experience settled, by an immaculate process, in an orbit at just the right distance from the sun so that life can be.
Quite apart from solid solar elements, gases, from the tails of visiting comets, may add to this celestial brew [2], We need to account for the origin of water, the air we breathe and much more beside, should we seek a scientific understanding.
So, as those wise men of old, we come to adore our King of heaven, for He will reclaim us, as His stars, before the throne of our heavenly Father. So let us rejoice that Jesus came into the world to save us; for we are made of His stuff; stardust from heaven.
